Get To Know Them Before You Ever Say A Word

The client you are meant to serve is not a guess.

I built this exercise because I got tired of writing into the dark. I wanted to know my ideal client specifically, their Tuesday afternoons, the thing they say to their partner when nobody else is listening, the number they are quietly ashamed of. Once I could see them clearly, everything I wrote started landing differently.

This prompt is how you get there too, one honest question at a time.

Free. One conversation with Claude, forty five to sixty quiet minutes.

What You're About To Do

This is not a worksheet and it is not a quiz. It is a real conversation between you and Claude, the same assistant we have been working with in class.

You will paste one long prompt into a new chat, and Claude will interview you the way a curious friend would over coffee, one question at a time, going a little deeper with every answer. By the end, you will have a full written profile of your ideal client ready to shape every caption, every email, and every offer you build from here forward.

  • Their Tuesday afternoons

The ordinary hours of their week, where your offer either fits or does not.

  • What they say when nobody is listening

The sentence they tell their partner, in their words rather than yours.

  • The number they are quietly ashamed of

The private thing they carry, and the reason your message can meet them there.

How To Use This Prompt

Five small moves, in the order they happen.

  1. Open Claude

Go to claude.ai and sign in, or open the app if you already have it from our first session together. Start a brand new chat so nothing else gets mixed in.

  2. Paste The Whole Prompt

Copy everything you receive and paste the entire thing into your new chat. Do not shorten it or summarize it first. Claude needs every instruction from the very beginning for the interview to work the way it is designed to.

  3. Answer From Your Gut

Claude will ask you one question at a time and wait for your answer before moving on. Give the real answer, not the polished one, even when a question feels uncomfortable or too specific. Those are usually the ones worth staying with.

  4. Give It Time

Set aside forty five minutes to an hour without rushing off to the next thing on your list. Some questions will ask you to imagine your client at two in the morning, or picture their exact words to a friend. Let yourself sit with those a moment before you type.

  5. Save What You Receive

When the interview ends, Claude will hand you a complete Ideal Client Profile. Copy it into a note or document you can find again, because this becomes the foundation every message you write from today forward is built on.

Before You Begin

  • Set aside real, uninterrupted time. This works best in one sitting, not five stolen minutes between errands.
  • Answer as if no one is grading you. There is no wrong client, only the one you know best.
  • If a question stops you for a moment, that is usually the one worth staying with a little longer.

See You In Class

Bring your finished profile with you next time we meet. We will use it to write the very first message you send to them, one that sounds like you and speaks straight to what they are already feeling.

Until then, be gentle with yourself. Clarity is not something you rush into. It is something you walk into, one honest answer at a time.
